March 12, 2026 admin Comments Off

The Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust, through its Puerto Rico Vector Control Unit (PRVCU), invites qualified academic institutions, nonprofit organizations, and private companies to submit proposals for:

Development of Disposable Capture Chambers, Adhesives, and Attractant Kits for the AGO Trap

This Request for Proposals seeks research, design, prototyping, and testing of improved components for the Autocidal Gravid Ovitrap (AGO), including user-friendly, disposable capture chambers; long-lasting adhesive systems; and alternative, pre-packaged attractants. These innovations are intended to reduce servicing burden, support use by homeowners and other non-technical users, and enhance durability, operational efficiency, and scalability for community-based mosquito control programs.

The complete Request for Proposals package, which includes eligibility requirements, submission instructions, and official dates, will be provided to qualified interested parties. To receive the RFP package, please contact the Procurement team at: Eddie G. Varela Rosario, evarela@prsciencetrust.org; and Lizmar A. Morales Vergara, lmorales@prsciencetrust.org.

All communications regarding this solicitation must follow the communication protocol established in the Request Proposals package.

The Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust reserve the right to amend or cancel this Request for Proposals in accordance with applicable policies.

Interested parties should submit an expression of interest via email by April 7. Following this deadline, the full application package and proposal submission materials will be shared with eligible respondents.
