 Andrea Victoria Arce, B.S.

Andrea Arce is a Biology PhD candidate in the DeGennaro Laboratory of Tropical Genetics. As a research assistant, she worked on mosquito reproduction and fertility of orco mutants. Currently, her doctoral research focuses on developing novel attractants for mosquito population control and surveillance. Her recent field work in both Puerto Rico and Miami, Florida centers on oviposition site-seeking Aedes aegypti females aiming to identify either synthetic or natural, odors that can help control population growth and prevent disease spread. She hopes to provide information useful for the fight against arboviral-diseases affecting humans worldwide
